Dennis Hahn
Dennis Hahn is a dedicated musician, educator, and lifelong advocate for music education,
bringing more than three decades of experience in both performance and teaching to the
Orangeville District Music Festival. With a deep commitment to developing young musicians,
Dennis has spent a career fostering musical excellence, confidence, and artistic growth in
students across a wide range of ages and ability levels.
A highly trained and accomplished pianist, Dennis holds an Associate Diploma (A.R.C.T.) in Piano
Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Academically, he earned a
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music from the University of Guelph and later completed a Master
of Education degree from the University of Toronto, combining advanced musical training with a
strong foundation in educational leadership and pedagogy.
Throughout an extensive teaching career, Dennis has directed elementary and secondary school
bands and wind ensembles for over 25 years, working with students to develop both technical
skill and a genuine appreciation for musical artistry. In addition to school-based instruction, he
has contributed to the broader arts community as Co-Director of the Theatre Orangeville Youth
Singers, helping young vocalists grow in musical confidence, ensemble awareness, and
expressive performance.
As an active performer, Dennis continues to bring energy and experience to the stage as the
keyboardist for the local band The Campfire Poets. He also has a rich background touring across
Canada with various musical acts as both a keyboardist and vocalist.
In addition to community and professional work, Dennis serves as Music and Choir Director at
the Knox United Church in Caledon Village, leading musical worship and directing choral
ensembles with care and professionalism.
Dennis is honoured to serve as an adjudicator for the Orangeville District Music Festival and
looks forward to hearing the performances, celebrating students’ progress, and encouraging
young musicians as they continue developing their craft and passion for music.
